What is a Club Sport?
A Club Sport is a recreational or competitive organization created, managed, and led by students. This is a student based organization so no students will be denied participation; however, these are not varsity teams and there will not be players on athletic scholarships. Players are required to pay dues and team fees, raise funds for the club, and provide some of their own equipment. Competitive teams practice and compete on a regular basis against opposing university teams. Recreational clubs hold practices and meetings but do very little in terms of competing on a regional or national level. The success of each organization is completely dependent on each club’s student leadership.
