Commerce, TEXAS—The Texas A&M University-Commerce International Student Services 18th Annual Multicultural Festival was held on March 30, 2011 at 11am in the Sam Rayburn Student Center on the 2nd floor.
The event began with a parade of flags across campus celebrating diversity with represented ethnicities at A&M-Commerce.
“Each year the festival has grown in the number of attendees and participants,” said John Mark Jones, director International Student Services. “This semester we had more than 1000 international students enrolled at our university from more than 50 countries, and had more countries and cultures to represented at the festival than ever before.”
The Festival was a free event and co-sponsored by the International Student Services and the Association of International Student to provide the opportunity for all international students and their organizations to showcase their unique cultures.
The college community, surrounding cities and schools explored the world during the Multicultural Festival. The festival program included a flag parade, exotic food tasting, arts, crafts, culture displays, talent show, and a fashion show.
