SBECON Hosts Conference at A&M-Commerce
By Taelor Duckworth
COMMERCE, TX— The Small Business and Entrepreneur Conferences, SBECON, are hosting their second conference at Texas A&M University-Commerce on April 17.
This conference will provide some of the tools and training necessary for turning small business ideas into a reality and in turn, growing those start-up businesses into larger, more successful ventures. Speakers experienced in economic development and entrepreneurship will be the core of the conference. They will be discussing topics such as, the importance of business plans, financing small businesses and the application of social media, among many others.
“Our goal is to both identify those individuals who have the desire and creativity to become entrepreneurs and to help them navigate the difficulties to realize their most optimistic aspirations,” said Dr. J. Robert Collins, professor of Management. “We believe that our entrepreneurs will continue to innovate, employ and succeed in the global economy.”
This year’s theme is “Think Bigger.” The conference is sponsored by the Paris, Greenville, Sulphur Springs and Commerce EDCs in addition to the Red River Regional Business Incubator.
