7. Sports and Recreational Facilities
- Cain Sports Complex
The Cain Sports Complex is a multipurpose outdoor facility for Texas A&M University-Commerce. It features horseshoe pits, multiple sport fields, multipurpose green space, a nine-hole disc golf course, barbecue grills, and picnic tables. In addition, the Cain Sports Complex plays host to numerous outdoor Intramural events.
- Crabtree Tennis Courts
The Crabtree Tennis Courts at Texas A&M University-Commerce houses four courts for informal play and tournaments. In addition, tennis lessons are available on a private and group basis.
- Jerry D. Morris Recreational Facility
The Jerry D. Morris Recreation Center is the focal point of faculty and student life at Texas A&M University-Commerce. This spectacular facility houses a 45-foot tall climbing rock, three-lane jogging track, 6,000 sq. ft. fitness room, four racquetball courts, large gymnasium, aerobics room, and classrooms. The outdoor area features a heated leisure pool, two-tier hot tub with waterfall, two basketball courts, two sand volleyball courts, picnic tables, barbecue pits, and sunbathing area. In addition, the Recreation Center offers special all events that include Salsa Night, Fright Fest, and Holiday at the MRC and special spring events such as Chinese New Year, Mardi Gras, Holi Festival, Caribbean Night, and Casino Night. Current faculty are eligible to purchase memberships to the Morris Recreation Center for a semester fee.
- Sam Rayburn Student Center
The Sam Rayburn Student Center is a focal point for recreational, social, and cultural events at Texas A&M University-Commerce. This building provides modern, state of the art meeting rooms, a food court, game room, dining rooms, informal lounges, patios, and lockers. The first floor contains Einstein Bros. Bagels, Grill 155, The Market, and Mane Cafeteria. In addition, the Campus Concierge, Digital Copy Centre, the Mane ID card office, the Pride Shop, and University Book Store and Convenience Store are also located on the ground floor. The Club, also located on the first floor is a hot spot for faculty and students to play pool, video games, NTN Trivia or just to hang out. Located on the second floor are two special lounges, six meeting rooms, the Conference Room, the Campus Synergy Lab, and the Student Government Association office.
- Texas A&M University–Commerce Athletic Department
The Texas A&M University–Commerce Athletic Department is a proud member of the NCAA Division II Lone Star Athletic Conference. Texas A&M University–Commerce participates in 11 sports that include men’s basketball, cross country, football, golf, and track and field and women’s basketball, cross county, golf, soccer, track and field, and volleyball.
