Dr. Stanley Holmes
Dr. Holmes has a Bachelor’s degree in history from East Texas State University in December of 1965, Master’s degree in Economics from East Texas State University in May of 1967, and Ph.D. in Economics from Texas A&M University – College Station in December of 1978. Dr. Holmes has been a Professor of Economics at Texas A&M University – Commerce since 2009 where he has instructed graduate and undergraduate courses in economic theory, managerial economics, finance and business forecasting. His areas of specialization include Economic Theory, Urban and Regional Economics, Monetary Policy, Industrial Organization, and History of Economic Thought. He has published several articles and has presented economic concepts in many professional symposiums. In addition, he has provided expert witness testimony in many state PUC and FCC regulatory hearings.
Dr. Holmes also spent 27 years working in the corporate sector and has extensive international business experience in many countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and North Africa. From 1978 to 1994 he was Vice President of Strategic Planning and Marketing Services with Verizon. In 1994 to 1995 he also served as an international telecommunications consulting practice lead for K&M Engineering under contract with USAID. From 1995 to 1997 he served as Director of Product Development and Marketing for Hewlett-Packard (formerly Tandem Computers). From 1997 to 2005 he was Vice President of Business Development for Oracle Corporation.
