Authors of Class Writing Competition
Sponsored by the Bill Martin Jr Memorial Symposium Committee and the Department of Curriculum & Instruction, Texas A&M University-Commerce
Wanted: Teams of Young Authors for the Authors of Class Writing Competition
The Authors of Class Writing Competition is open to children in Grades K–12 and is designed to encourage teams of students to use their reading, writing, and artistic skills to create books. First and Second Place books per grade level will be chosen to showcase at the Bill Martin Jr Memorial Symposium in Commerce and/or Mesquite, and on the Bill Martin Jr Symposium website.
Writing your book should be a group or class project. Your book should be patterned after a book that was originally written by Bill Martin Jr. The submission form includes a Final Reflection for teachers to share how the writing process and the Language Experience Approach (LEA) were implemented during the writing of the book.
The original book is due to the Curriculum & Instruction Department Office April 19th. Winners will be announced at the Bill Martin Jr Symposium on May 3, 2013.
Inspire future authors by helping your students feel the thrill of authorship NOW.
