First and foremost, the EFE intern is required to observe the mentor teacher and his/her students in the classroom setting. Particular focus should be placed on interaction from teacher-to-student, student-to-teacher, and student-to-student. You may participate in additional activities at the discretion of your assigned mentor(s) and SED/ELED instructor. The EFE intern is expected to continually maintain "acceptable" ratings in areas of professional appearance, social maturity, emotional maturity, physical fitness, effective communication, role modeling, punctuality, receptiveness to coaching and feedback (teachable), initiative and willingness, ethical standards, interest and enthusiasm, cooperation, and motivation. Each mentor teacher will complete and an Early Field Experience Rating Form. Please note the mentor teacher verifies the Record of Early Field Experiences log sheet with his or her signature. Each EFE intern is required to submit a completed Early Field Experience Reflective Observation addressing several facets of the Early Field experience.
EFE Submissions required for Educator Preparation credit:
Record of Early Field Experiences Log Sheet (Date, Hours, Grade Level Observed, Description of Activities, and Mentor teacher's initials and signature)
Early Field Experience Reflective Observation (This is to be completed online)
Early Field Experience Rating Form (To be completed and signed by the Mentor Teacher and may be submitted by the Mentor Teacher or EFE student)
