History - Undergraduate
The History department offers one undergraduate major with different tracks. Students may study history without reference to teacher certification, or study history with a concentration in high school (8-12) teaching, or study social studies with a concentration in high school teaching, or study social studies with a concentration in middle school (6-8) teaching. Please note that those who wish to teach high school or middle school major in a content area (such as history or mathematics), then concentrate in teacher preparation; they do not major in education.
Students may choose to major in history, in any of the tracks, as a Bachelor of Science (BS) or as a Bachelor of Arts (BA). The Bachelor of Arts requires four courses in a foreign language.
The History Department also offers a second major and a minor. Click into the links below and get some more information about the courses.
