Dr. Elisa Gironzetti
PhD. Research Student
Elisa holds a PhD from the Universidad de Alicante (Spain). Her research focused on humorous and non-humorous communication through single panel cartoons published in Spanish and Italian newspapers. She holds a MA in Teaching English and Spanish as FL/L2 from the Universidad de Alicante and a MA in Promoting and Teaching the Italian Language and Culture to Foreign Speakers from the Universitá degli Studi of Milan (Italy).
She taught several courses of English, Italian, and Spanish as Second/Foreign language in Utrecht, Milan, Alicante, Bristol and Bath and gave some postgraduate seminars and specialized professional training at the University of Alicante and in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute.
She earned her “Laurea” in 2005 in Languages and Techniques for Information and Communicationat the Universitá Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore of Milan, defending a dissertation in Sociolinguistics on the presence of Anglicism in the Spanish and Italian specialized press.
Her research interests focus on humor, pragmatics and applied linguistics.
