Max Petrenko, Ph.D.
Max Petrenko, Ph.D. in Linguistics (Purdue University), and a Ph.D. (“kandidat nauk”) in Philology. He holds multiple appointments including Projects Officer at the Machine Translation Division at the International Monetary Fund (Washington D.C.), Computational Linguist at Lionbridge Technologies (Tampere, Finland), Senior Ontologist at Vertical Search Works Inc. (Carlsbad, CA), and Research Member at Natural Language Processing Lab (Purdue University). Max is also Visiting Professor of English and Linguistics at Princess Ekaterina Dashkova Moscow Humanities Institute in Moscow, Russia. Max also directs a subsidiary of US-based NLP start-up ViaSem LLC, which is based at the IT Cluster of Skolkovo Foundation in Russia. His previous affiliations included RiverGlass Inc, where he worked as ontological semantic specialist and knowledge resource manager, and Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS) at Purdue, where he was a Research Assistant in the NSF-funded project on the ontological semantic support for limited domain.
