The Labor Market and Career Information Department of the Texas Workforce Commission projects that between now and 2018, and estimated 2,955 annual jobs will be available in Texas in the arts, entertainment, media and communication industries, not including secondary or post-secondary education. Students with an MA or MS degree in Film and Media Studies will be well-positioned to take advantage of these opportunities.
You would get some useful references from the Career Development websites: (http://www.tamuc.edu/careerdevelopment) about the career plan and opportunities.
The Career Development Department also has two links they use to explore different majors: MyPlan (http://www.myplan.com) and What Can I Do With This Major (this link can only be found on Career Development webpage as it’s licensed exclusively for our site). Both MyPlan and WCIDWTM can be reached at this link: http://www.tamuc.edu/studentLife/campusServices/careerDevelopment/myPlan.aspx
