Dr. Robert Rodriguez
In 2010, Dr. Rodriguez joined the faculty at Texas A&M University-Commerce where he teaches comparative politics with a regional focus on Latin America, in addition to courses examining U.S. and Texas politics. He has also organized the first study abroad program to Argentina for students at A&M-Commerce. His service has been honored with several awards, including “Faculty of the Year” from the Office of Hispanic Outreach and Student Services at A&M-Commerce and a “Globalization” Award from the A&M-Commerce Employee Recognition Program.
Dr. Rodriguez’s research focuses on Latin American politics in addition to the intersections between politics and sports in the United States and abroad. He has presented research in the United States as well as at international academic conferences in Austria, Brazil, Finland, France, and Russia. In 2009, Dr. Rodriguez published a book entitled The Regulation of Boxing: A History and Comparative Analysis of Policies in the American States.
