CORE Program - (Masters in Education)
Cohort of Rockwall Educators (CORE) is a collaborative program between Rockwall Independent School District and Texas A&M University-Commerce's Department of Curriculum & Instruction. The program is a 3-year Masters in Education for Teachers employed in Rockwall ISD.
The mission of the Masters Cohort (CORE) program is to provide RISD educators the foundation on which to elevate excellence in student learning.
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers the MED and MS degree in Curriculum and Instruction. The degree involves 18 hours of study in the major and 18 hours of electives which allow students to take additional courses in the major, complete a second major or area of emphasis, or earn additional graduate certifications such as gifted and talented and bilingual education.
Earned degree will be Supervision, Curriculum, and Instruction, Ed.D. in Elementary Education.
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers a doctoral degree in Education with a major in Supervision, Curriculum, and Instruction. The curriculum for the doctorate degree involves a minimum of 90 semester hours (includes 36 hours in required major core courses with an EDCI prefix, 12 dissertation hours, 12 tools courses, and 18 hours in one of the following emphasis: Note, some core courses, and many emphasis courses are offered only on the main campus.
