The COMPASS exam assesses the reading, mathematics, and writing skills that entering freshman-level students should have if they are to perform effectively in undergraduate certificate or degree programs in Texas public colleges or universities. COMPASS is used at TAMU - Commerce in making placement decisions for enrolling in college-level courses to satisfy the Texas Success Initiative (TSI).*
The fee is $25 per section or $55 to take all three sections.

- Report to the Testing Office in the One Stop Shop on the date and time for which you are scheduled.
- Bring a valid photo ID (driver's license, government issued photo ID, or passport) is required
- You may use a four-function nonprogrammable calculator. Calculators will be provided by the Testing Office.
*If any prohibited items are brought to the center they will be taken up and turned off (if necessary) and scores may be canceled. The center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
