At Texas A&M University-Commerce we know that student academic success involves a network of support. Therefore, during New Student Orientation we invite parents to participate in orientation sessions specifically designed to educate them about our University.
Our parent orientation sessions will provide in-depth information about our:
- Financial aid process
- Registration policies and procedures
- Student accounts
- Scholarship opportunities
- Support services for students with special needs
During these sessions our campus leaders and current parents will converse with parents about academic expectations for students. Parents are encouraged to join our Parents Council.
Preparing your students to attend college can be a very exciting and busy time. The Office of Orientation understands and has created a checklist to help parents and guests complete the important task before the semester begins. Parents and guests are encouraged to attend Orientation with their student to learn more about Texas A&M University-Commerce and the steps involved in the transition process. We hope this check-list will help you stay organized over the summer.
