"Promoting Excellence in the Profession of Counseling"

Chi Sigma Iota is the international honor society for students, professional counselors and counselor educators established at Ohio University in 1985. Our mission is to promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.

Chi Sigma Iota – Epsilon Tau was established on November 9, 1985 at Texas A&M University –Commerce. It was an active chapter for many years before taking on a non-active status. During the 2007-2008 school year, a group of doctoral students united and revived the society back to an active status. Due to their hard work and dedication, the 2008-2009 officers will now be able to carry on the torch that their peers helped reignite in an effort to bring back the traditions of Chi Sigma Iota back to campus. Currently the Epsilon Tau Chapter has over 500 members, 96 of whom are active members. Our mission is to create leadership and volunteer opportunities for our graduate students in addition to, facilitating a scholarly environment for the improvement and advancement of our students and the profession of counseling

Please feel free to browse through our website and share your suggestions and/or comments about improving the site or any activities that you would like to see take place within our department of counseling.
