Position Title:Building Technician
Reports To:Housing Maintenance Supervisor
Purpose of Position
Performs maintenance and repair on all housing facilities. This includes carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
- Performs carpenter work
- Electrical work on lights, outlets, appliances, re-wiring and other electrical equipment.
- Works on plumbing to include water leaks and stop-ups.
- Works on all air conditioning and heating systems.
- Assists on all lock systems.
- Performs after hours work.
Contributes to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues and opportunities.
This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services.
Marginal Functions will vary with the specific assignment and depend on the particular unit or function for which the person is responsible. Consideration will be given on a case by case basis and reassignment of marginal duties will be made when appropriate.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
Requires high school diploma or equivalent. Three to five (3-5) years related experience. Requires a valid Texas drivers license. Requires knowledge of carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. Knowledge of lock and key preferred. Freon recovery license preferred.
