Position Title:eLearning Design Specialist

Purpose of Position
Responsible for assisting faculty in the design of online, blended, and enhanced courses and instructional components, and assisting in the development of online training and related professional development.
- Works in partnership with individual faculty members to design and develop online, blended and we-enhanced courses and related instructional components. Works with faculty developers by phone, in person, and via email.
- Works with the Coordinator for Instructional Design to develop online training and professional development opportunities which support faculty in the development and delivery of online, blended and web-enhanced courses.
- Assists with research regarding resources with potential to enrich and supplement online courses.
- Assists with supporting faculty in the use of academic support software (i.e. Macromedia Presenter (Breeze), Respondus, etc.).
Contributes to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues and opportunities.
This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services.
Marginal Functions will vary with the specific assignment and depend on the particular unit or function for which the person is responsible. Consideration will be given on a case by case basis and reassignment of marginal duties will be made when appropriate.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
Requires a BachelorÔ??s degree from an accredited four year college and one year related experienced in online course design and development. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may substitute as appropriate. Preferred: Masters degree. Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems, specifically Pearson Learning Studio (eCollege). Education or experience in the design of online courses or online training components. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Ability to conduct face-to-face instruction, online teaching and oral presentations. Aptitude and openness to learn and apply new technologies. Working knowledge of online pedagogy and best practices.
