Why Become a Certified Retirement Counselor®?
Retirement Counseling Demand
Over the next 18 years somewhere around 78 million baby boomers are going to reach retirement age. That means that 10,000 Americans will reach retirement age EVERY DAY over the coming 18 years. Many of them will reach retirement age unprepared and are in desperate need of financial education and retirement counseling. The CRC® certification will prepare you to help these retirees plan for this coming phase of their life.
What are clients looking for?
The modern investor is more sophisticated and has more financial responsibility for their retirement funds than any who preceded them. Research shows that the number one trait individuals look for in their financial professional is credibility and expertise. The CRC® designation inspires the confidence your clients are looking for as they approach retirement. As a CRC® you will demonstrate:
- Comprehension of today’s complex retirement plans and laws
- Command of retirement income strategies
- Commitment to high ethical standards and continuing education
An NCCA Accredited Program
As of September 1, 2009 the CRC® officially met the certification accreditation standards determined by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Tackling the challenging process of independent certification program accreditation requires the CRC® to be structured and administered under rigorous standards relating to governance, responsibility to stakeholders, exam process, and re-certification. Only a few financially-related certifications have achieved NCCA accreditation status.
