Respondus
Respondus is a tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to eCollege. Texas A&M University-Commerce has a site license for Respondus, which allows multiple users to install the software. Respondus software must be installed on a computer running Microsoft Windows.
Installation & Setup Steps

Copy and paste the license information noted in green text below into the appropriate fields on the installation screen when prompted:
Institution Name: Texas A&M – Commerce

Installation Password: For security purposes, to retrieve the installation password, login to eCollege and locate the installation password under the “Faculty Support Services” section of the eCollege login home page.
- Setup Respondus
There is some setup of Respondus required when you use the program for the first time. A few short practice tests are available here for your use in this setup step. Download and unzip the .zip file to access the practice tests. Note how the files are formatted for use by Respondus. Additional instructions regarding how to format a test file are provided in “Standard Format for Importing Questions” document in the “Resources” section of this page.

The full installation program for the Campus-wide version of Respondus 3.5.4e is available from the administrator area of our website: http://www.respondus.com/campus-portal/login.php . We recommend that you update the installation program that is being distributed to users so that new installations will be based on Respondus 3.5.4e.

Updating from Respondus 3.5.x to Respondus 3.5.4e

If Respondus 3.5 has already been installed, the easiest way to obtain the 3.5.4e update is to use the "Check for Update" feature in Respondus. Follow these steps:
* Start Respondus 3.5
* Select "Help" from the menu bar
* Click "Check for Update" (this requires a live Internet connection)
* Click "Get Update"
* Upon exiting the Respondus software, the update will automatically be applied
If you prefer to manually download and apply the Respondus 3.5.4e patch, go to http://www.respondus.com/download/respondus35patch.shtml and select the appropriate download link. As noted above, this page also provides a list of the items addressed with the patch.

Standard Format for Importing Questions
Respondus-ready exams. Respondus works with publishers to provide testbanks for exams for some textbooks. You may choose to conduct a search for existing exams provided at the Respondus Website at www.Respondus.com. Click on the “Publisher Test Banks in Respondus Format – Search” button on the left navigation bar, and follow the screen prompts.
Demonstrations are available on using Respondus for various tasks such as are available how to create and format questions, how to publish an assessment to eCollege, how to download publisher test banks, importing questions with Respondus, and using the Respondus exam wizard.
